Flag House Reopening: Phase II

  • Effective Tuesday, July 6, 2021, the Flag House will increase capacity to 20 persons per tour time slot. Walk-in visitors are welcome, however, timed ticketing is still encouraged to secure your desired tour slot. To purchase tickets online, visit: SimpleTix Star-Spangled Banner Flag House
  • Tours of the historic house will be self-guided using our audio tour system.
  • Pre-scheduled group tours will be limited to 30 persons. To schedule a group tour, please email info@flaghouse.org or call 410-837-1793. 
  • Tour slots will begin at 10 am and end at 3:00 pm for daily cleaning. 
  • As of July 1, 2021, the mask mandate has been lifted in Baltimore City. Masks are still welcome and encouraged.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will remain in place for visitors, but visitors will no longer be required to sanitize their hands upon entry to the museum. 
  • The Maryland House exhibit space, Hofmeister second-floor observation landing, and Children’s Discovery Gallery will remain closed to the public indefinitely.

We will continue to update this strategy as CDC, and city-wide guidelines evolve and will make every effort to inform the public of any changes to the above-stated safety measures.

What to know before your visit about our COVID-19 Safety Measures. 

  • Admission is limited to strict one-hour tour blocks with one 30-minute cleaning break at the end of the day.  
  • Our current tour times are as follows: 10 AM – 11 AM (earliest tour) | 11AM – 12 PM | 12 PM – 1 PM | 1PM – 2 PM | 2 PM – 3 PM (prompt end time for cleaning)
  • Tours of the historic house will be self-guided using our audio tour system.
  • All visitors and staff must wear face coverings inside until the Baltimore City mask mandate is lifted. Indoor spaces include the Hofmeister Building and historic Flag House. Disposable face masks can be purchased for $1 at the front desk.
  • Under the weather? For the safety of our staff and visitors, please stay home when you are feeling sick.
  • The Children’s Discovery Gallery, Maryland House, and Hofmeister second-floor observation landing will remain closed to the public.

For our staff and guests’ safety, the Flag House reserves the right to deny admission for guests unwilling to follow the above safety measures. Please arrive at your scheduled time as that is the only way to ensure entry into the Flag House.
